The FaceBot

The FaceBot

Year: 1999

The FaceBot is an installation that investigates facial recognition and surveillance technologies, turning these systems back on themselves to expose their ideological promises and technical failures. Like much of Frøysland’s work, it implicates the audience as user, observer, and unwitting performer.
